Is my motto

When writing poetry.

Keep it simple

So its immediacy

Flows like a gurgling creek

Into a raging torrent

On its way to the ocean.

Keep it simple 

So its vibrancy

Resonates like the rustling

Of the wind in the Gumtrees

Or the high shredding cry

Of the tempest on a winter night.

Keep it simple 

So like the soft light of dawn

Colours the day to come.

Keep it simple

So its appeal is universal

And sways every one.

Keep it simple
