Australia Day 2012

Yesterday was a sharp reminder

Of Australia’s illegal tenure

Of the Dreamtime continent.

The constant flow of insults

From the white fellow towards the black fellow

Continues unabated to this day.

The non recognition of the true nature

Of the indigenous society

Through its diverse people,

Drives it to be abused

Under the most irregular existing legislation.

In order to protect its people

Many tribal people in the Northern Territory

Have lost their own financial and parental rights

Under  the durance of military rule. 

 In a country that flaunts its classless society

To the rest of the world

We find ourselves with a totalitarism regimen

Nestled inside a supposed democracy!

And to this the international press

Remarked on the Cinderella syndrome

Of the Prime Minister losing her shoe

As triviality this is awesome I have to say!

So upset am I that this space is

Today dedicated to Invasion Day

And two hundred and thirty one years

Of dispossession and genocide!
