The day had been so
hot
We had stayed inside all
day long
We decided that it
would be fresher by the seaside.
It was not as there
was no breeze
And the sand was
releasing the heat of the day.
The beach was busy
despite the late hour
People walking their
dogs
Lots of late bathers,
Family groups enjoying an evening picnic
Lovers having a
stroll,
All walking along the
beaches.
From the bright sun of
the late afternoon
In the pale blue sky
Typical of this period
of the year
Slowly an aquarelle tainting
appeared
As the sun beyond the horizon disappeared
It was not the most astounding
sun set
I had ever seen
But one of the most
peaceful.
Surprisingly the water
did not reflect the sun set
It just became darker.
As higher in the sky
the sliver of the moon
Turned on the orange coloring
of the vanishing sun
It was a very soothing
sight.
The bay lost is width
while acquiring darkness
The atmosphere changed
and became intimate
The first stars
appeared faintly above the bay
The animals prepared
for the night
The last flights of
the ducks homing for their night rest
The last flurry of activity of the
rakaly before night time.
The cats took on prowling the breakers
In search of easy
preys,
The night was young
And had already lost
its innocence.
