Half-Way

Half-way, yes, we are half-way

Amazingly it's been quick

Each passing day

A few words, a few lines

Noting a few moments

Not defining ones, mind you

Very few memorable

Truly my own perception

It has been an interesting journey

And we are only half-way

One hundred and eighty four poems

One notebook full of them

A mostly seasonal diary

Of every day events

Be they happy, be they sad

Be they mundane, be they touching

On the blog they go day in, day out

That's the deal one a day for a year

It turns out that I might be

Really stubborn after all.

A mi-chemin, oui, nous sommes à mi-chemin

Étonnamment cela a été rapide

Chaque jour qui passe

Quelques mots, quelques lignes

Notant quelques instants

Peu importants très peu mémorables

Mais de ma propre perception

Cela a été un voyage intéressant

Et nous ne sommes qu'à mi-chemin

Cent quatre-vingt quatre poèmes

Un carnet noirci par eux

Un journal essentiellement saisonnier

Parmi tous les événements d'une journée

Qu’ils soient heureux, qu'ils soient tristes

Qu'il s'agisse de banalité, qu'ils soient émouvants

Sur le blog, ils vont, jour après jour

C'est l'affaire d'un par jour pendant un an

Il s'avère que je pourrais être

Vraiment têtue, après tout.
