Sometimes I want to give up on Australians,
Their lack of compassion is incommensurable.
A deep unconscious resonance runs between
Their gutted parched up continent
And their mental inability to offer kindness
Or generosity to another human being in distress.
They turn their ingenuity into callous cruelty
Transforming the forced detention of onshore processing
Into the current atrocious offshore processing
And from today are to make it worse by dumping it
To become another country heartache.
When you believe you've reached the bottom
Another level of mental harshness is revealed
You just have to look at their criminal treatment
Of asylum seekers and refugees.
Are we to let them do it again?
