Spring is coming

The sky's blue is deeper,
The sun is shinier, days are longer.
Spring is coming
The grass lost its grey shade
To display an emerald tinge, in contrast
To the offering of blooming wattles.
Spring is coming
The river fed by the winter rains
Is running freely and clear.
Spring is coming
Magpies are warbling,
Chasing each other, fighting
For that prime positioned nest.
Spring is coming
The first plum tree is blossoming
Sure sign that spring is coming
Despite the snow forecast
For a cold tomorrow.
Nature is trumpeting its arrival
High and clear this year,
Spring is coming,
Are we ready for it?
