The path

Behind the sunny meadow
The green walled path
Leads you away.
You're keen to follow it
Though you can't see
Where it'll end.
Beware you might get lost
For there is no map
But you have a guide.
In front of you she walks temptingly
Fleetingly appearing and disappearing
Along the twisted lane
Tantalisingly near and far
Continuously almost in and out of touch.
Yours to possess
Hers to be free
You may tag her
But you may not own her.
She goes by the name of freedom
Freedom to love
Freedom to be.
Essential yet immaterial
On this road that life is
The choice is yours.

Free to roam

On the dining floor of Central
One is met with one of the fifty elephants
Its theme is free to roam
Which is rather pertinent to a railway station
Roaming limited by the tracks, of course!
We had a coffee there and surprisingly
Sparrows were absolutely roaming
Between the floors and flying here
And there between the tables.
Melbourne seems to have
Bred a new species of urban sparrows
As one can see them in restaurants
Stores and shopping centres.
All over the place
They have  happily adapted to urban life.
And don't seem to mind escalators
Or revolving doors.
Another surprising thing is
That most of the human species does not seem
To notice them flying and twittering around them
On the third floor of a building!
